This is my favorite beach to take Marcel and let him run to his heart's content. The beach is nice and it's not crowded. The drive out to the beach through the Arcata bottoms is bucolic and you just might see peacocks. You will most certainly see lots of cows. Moo.

Nice walking beach in Arcata with best dunes. Bring your windbreaker and beanie, those winds can be chilly. Pretty drive through farm lands to get to the beach.

I've always loved the drive through the Arcata Bottoms farmland as it follows the Mad River to the ocean.
