Manset is on the "quiet" side of the island (as compared to Bar Harbor), but it’s an active neighborhood and we love being here! Our apartment is situated in a larger building with another apartment upstairs and a commercial space—with a tenant who just occupied it last month . A neighborhood with boat building history and current activity.. A short walk down to Manset (rocky) shore. Seawall picnic area is not far away via car/bicycle down the main road as are Wonderland and Ship Harbor trails.

A dock, firepit & gazebo are available for use and are shared with the neighboring unit, which are always a guest favorite! However, we encourage your to venture into the mountains, walk or ride the carriage roads, kayak, take an ocean or fresh water swim or spend a day visiting neighboring islands--there is a multitude of options, for all ages, on Mount Desert Island Maine.

The Arthaus, an eclectic retreat for two

Located on Mount Desert Islands, "Quietside". The cottage features high ceilings and an open floor plan, with a small deck looking into the woods The walls are decorated with original art work by the owner. Our location is central to the island, situated just outside the village of Somesville; 15 minutes to Bar Harbor, 10 minutes to Southwest Harbor by car. Hiking and swimming opportunities are just 5 minutes away by car. The Arthaus is not suitable for pets, despite our love for them.

The house is located in Ellsworth Maine and although shops, restaurants, local lakes, Acadia National Park and area attractions are only a quick drive away, the home feels soothing, very safe, secluded and welcoming to all.

Lakeside Little Camp on MDI, 3 miles to Acadia

Private and rustic cabin just a few steps from the lake in the center of the island. The Little Camp is a one bedroom home on a 10 acre family parcel. Only three homes on a private road. Private dock and canoe on the quiet (west) side of Long Pond. This is an archetypal Maine cabin- wood paneling, stone fireplace, comfortably, but simply furnished. The reflections from the water sparkle through the glass windows; it's so peaceful and pretty here.

This apartment is located within walking distance to many wonderful restaurants and boutiques. A short drive to all Acadia National Park has to offer. This is an open studio apartment with a king size bed and beautiful walkin shower. All brand new furniture. It has only a microwave no other form for cooking.

On Island Time - Southwest Harbor - Acadia

This spacious 2 bedroom, 2nd floor apartment has all the amenities of home and is located right in the heart of Southwest Harbor! Walk out the door to many wonderful restaurants, galleries and shopping. We are a short walk to the harbor and marina. Across the street is the stop for Island Explorer bus with free seasonal transportation to all over the island and Acadia National Park. Parking available for 1 vehicle.

Pretty Marsh Cottage

This beautiful, light-filled cottage on waterfront property on the western side of Mount Desert Island has picturesque views of the Mount Desert Narrows and access to a private pebble beach. The house is on very secluded wooded property for a nice private getaway. All you will hear are the sounds of birds and waves lapping up on the beach. Just a short drive to all that Acadia National Park has to offer!
