Our cosy little cabin is centrally located to explore the nature wonders of the south. About 50 km east of Vik and 30 km west of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. 8,5 km from the ring road no 1 by road 208.
Most nature attractions in the central south Iceland are within 95 minutes drive from us.
Self catering cabin / cottage G-22
General: Cabin is build 2009, refurbished 2015. Sleeps 2 adults and one child (small person) in upper bunk-bed.
Kitchen: Fridge/freezer, two ring ceramic-hob, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster and all necessary cooking utensils as well as washing liquid, basic spices, vegetable oil, instant coffee, tea bags, salt and sugar. Dining area with seating for 2-3
Bedroom: Queen size bed + upper bunk-bed. (70 x 190 cm)
Bathroom: Shower, toilet, sink, towels, soap, toilet paper.
Outside: Decking with 3 burner gas grill, table and 3 chairs,
Free WiFi internet access, 4G covering in the area.
Pure tap water.
Walking on shoes inside is not allowed, slippers are provided.
Cloth washer and dryer are next door in our home.

Seljalandsfoss; unic waterfall, you can walk arund it and see it from the back, 120 km to the west from us and underneath the volcano Eyjafjallajökull.
Vestmannaeyjar: Now just opened a new ferry line to Vestmanna islands, it‘s just 25 minutes sailing.
Road to the ferry opposit Seljalandsfoss.
Skógafoss; one of the most beautiful waterfalls in our country, in sunshine you will see the rainbow, 85 km west from cabin.
Skógar folk museum; near Skógafoss.
Eyjafjallajökull; in clear weather you will see the crater from 2010 clearly from the road.
Mýrdalsjökull; one of the two big glaciers in the south, around 60 km west from cabin. Popular snowmobile tours.
Dyrhólaey; the southest tip of Iceland about 60 km south west from cabin. Ideal place for bird watching, lot of puffins in spring and early summer.
Black Beach; popular place between Dyrhólaey and Reynisfjall. 55 km to the west from us.
Reynisfjall; cape above Vik í Mýrdal, magnificent panorama view of south coastline and the glaicers. 40 km west from cabin.
Hjörleifhöfði; about 35 km south west from cabin.
Eldgjá; explosion eruption canyon around 40 km long, 30 km north from cabin (4WD or by bus only)
Ófærufoss; waterfall in that same rift, Eldgjá, 30 km north from cabin.

Langisjór; beautiful mountain lake about 22 km long ca 60 km north of cabin, only 4WD in summer.
Landmannalaugar; Very beautiful and popular area with hot stream to bath in, ca 60 km north of the cabin, only 4WD or by bus in summer.
Lakagigar; a row of craters from eruption 1783. That eruption formed one of the the biggest known basalt lava stream in historic time in the world. You can see the lava stream only few km from cabin. About 80 km from cabin, only 4WD or by bus in summer.
Vatnajökull and Jökulsárlón; Vatnajökull is the biggest glacier and there is the Vatnajökull National Park around 90 km east from cabin
Skaftafell; now a part of Vatnajökull National Park, many hiking trails and beautiful places in that area 90 km east from us.
Ingólfshöfði; cape in the black lava sand south from Vatnajökull glacier 120 km east from cabin
Glacier lagoon; a lake by the glacier full with floating icebergs, a must to visit. Ca 150 km east from cabin.
