The Riva seaside promenade is where the inhabitants of Split go to unwind. Most places along this route stay open until 11 in the evening, and it’s a great place to stop and have a good cup of coffee. A few places even have TVs to watch sporting events.

Built as a military fortress, imperial residence and fortified town, the palace measures 215m from north to south and 180m east to west, altogether covering 38,700 sq metres.
