Good restaurants

Hi HH Guest, I wouldn't include these great restaurants if I didn't consider them worth my time and money. Clean. Quality. Service-oriented. Fair value.
Dear HH Guest, I highly recommend Flaming Amy's--especially for quick to-go food that you can enjoy outside on the picnic table on the deck or on the mobile coffee table in the Media Room, or on the mobile coffee table in the Therapy Room or on the Dining Room table or on the kitchen counter. I've eaten some of Flaming Amy's salsa in bed! (If you wouldn't kick me out for eating crackers, then you would you for HOT salsa?) Importantly, I remember when Flaming Amy's opened way back in the 90s or 00s. I asked about it in my accountant's office. A bookkeeper–who shared the A-frame office building directly behind the Barn with my CPA–said out loud that he "would never eat there ever again because everyone who worked there has tattoos". For the record, I think people are more beautiful without tattoos. But, also for the record, if you judge food by the staff's skin colors then you too will miss out on this Wilmington jewel! If you like spice, this place is special. They've got a huge sections of chips and burritos and some other stuff but the best part is the selection of several high quality salsas to drape over your chips and burritos. Like they say, there's something in a name. If you like spice, don't forget Flaming Amy's name when you make your first order. When I've been out of Wilmington the first thing I order upon return is Flaming Amy's eponymous burrito which I then enhance with her eponymous salsa. Would you really name your second best product after yourself? She didn't. You won't forget her name after going to the Burrito Barn. If, like me, you go back so many times you're ready to eat something else, then I've got good news: Her second and third and fourth and umpteenth products are outstanding too. Even if Amy is coated in head-to-toe tattoos (which she is not), I'd let her Thai Me Up like her aptly named burrito that I can't help but recommend too! Try that one with her pineapple salsa if your feeling tropical. This is not a place with maitre d' or wait staff but they do have tables, beverage bar, and THE salsa bar! You do have to wait in a line. But they do have friendly and polite customer service. On Tuesday's they'll ask to see your tattoo and give you a significant discount if you show it to them--where ever it is. Don't get distracted hoping you''ll see the ass tattoo on the girl in front of you. Because you might forget to order a LARGE salsa container along with a BIG bag of tortilla chips to take back to Hooker Haven. They've got smaller to-go containers at the Salsa Bar and a small bag of chips is included with your burrito. While there don't waste you're brief ordering opportunity to get as much good salsa and chips as you can! After placing your order, focus your attention on the Salsa Bar. Use those way too small to-go containers to get a small amount of nearly every salsa they have. With a burrito and big bag of to-go chips and a big salsa container, you will make several of your Hooker Haven days a little happier!

Without a doubt one of Wilmington best restaurants. Trust me. Go early or make reservations. It fills up quickly. Who wants to live a life without spice? Not Erik. Get your pan-Asian fill of spice from my former neighbor's Vietnamese family (104 Hooker Road) -owned and ran restaurant. Study your curry charts before arriving early! I can never return from spice-deprived Costa Rica without making an immediate visit here! They have now opened additional restaurants in Wilmington / Carolina Beach area. You won't be disappointed with the food here!
