The Uptown House is the perfect home base and Challis is a great starting point to explore the many sites of the Salmon Challis NF, fish the Salmon River, or simply enjoy laid back mountain living. Located at the upper end of Main Street in old town Challis, this 1930’s store front has been converted to a spacious getaway that is close to local restaurants and bars and within minutes of groceries, gas and shopping making it easy to plan your visit.

The home is just outside Boise National Forest in Wildlife Canyon and an hour out of Eagle, Meridian and Boise. Guests will have access to the entire home. Great place to stay for quick lake access. No need to park your boat trailer at the boat launch, this house is right across the street. Ride snowmobiles to the lake from driveway. Walking distance to public beaches and golf course, and restaurant. Great location!! The house has excellent use of space and doesn't feel crowded. The extra large deck provides more living space. Central AC added for 2026 season.
