The nice, little Ofenhaus 1750

In 1750 this house was built to hold a room where local women could come together and bake their bread on a weekly basis. Until 1970 the "Ofenhaus" was used in the traditional way, before being refurbished in 2013. Now this historical and charming little house is ready for a whole new chapter: Stay here, feel the past and enjoy the beautiful surroundings! The Ofenhaus has been built right next to our farmhouse in a quiet and urban quarter of Murten. Enjoy the mediterranean flair and the little patio, surrounded by olive trees, oleander and palm trees. The house itself is furnished modern, but still charming, comfortable and suitable for this historic home. Fair oak parquet on the floor, a kitchen with refrigerator, a glass ceramic cooking range and a "Nespresso" coffee machine (coffee included!), a proper bathroom, a double bed and a bar with our home distilled (fruit) schnapps make your stay to a unforgettable experience. Also included are: Internet (WLAN), TV/Radio. It takes you less than one kilometer to reach the beautiful, medieval city of Murten and the train station, the lake is also within walking distance. Many restaurants, shops and touristic sights are close by. Murten is the perfect place to discover the surrounding area and the wide range of cultural events, such as concerts, cinema, OpenAir-cinema, flea market, farmer's markets, theaters, OpenAir-concerts and many more. And it’s just a 45-minute train ride from Bern, the capital of Switzerland, away. If you'd like, to book a boat or a wakeboard trip - no problem. We would be glad to show you just how beautiful the lake of Murten is, and offer trips with our boat, a "Boesch Ascona". Cleaning is in the price included.

Our house is built with ecological material that literally grows or is outside the front door - wood, straw and clay. The furniture is either recycled and the new pieces are solvent-free. Entering the house, you smell the wood, the pleasant ambiance and you will feel it. It is very cosy, the view into the biodiversity of the garden and the woods on the horizon bring you peace of mind. Our house and its surroundings are a non-smoking-area.

The location is unique: situated directly in the harbour of Vallamand with a unique view of Lake Murten and the Alps. The larger cities of Neuchâtel, Bern and Fribourg are 20 and 30 minutes' drive away respectively. Parking spaces are available on the property. There is a bus stop very close. Welcome!
