To the rear is a yarden (a gravelled yard garden) with sheltered seating area. Well behaved pets are welcome.

Rose Cottage is a 150 year old Grade II listed property, located within the Durham City conservation area. It is ideally situated for guests to enjoy the many attractions of this historic city, including the Unesco World Heritage site of Durham Cathedral and Castle, Durham University Museums and Gardens, riverside walks and an abundance of eateries. This stylish Edwardian terraced house is perfect for couples or a family. On the edge of Durham Heritage Coastline & Castle Eden Dene Nature Reserve. 8 mins walk to beaches & cliffs. On a clear day views as far as Blyth & Whitby. The sandy beach has wonderful rock formations & an abundance of sea glass after a high tide. Regular sightings of seal, dolphin, deer and rare birds. Also the beach is the location of the final scenes of Get Carter with Michael Caine & Britt Ekland (1970).

The Oaks

The Oaks is attached to our home. It has its own private entrance from the outside and internal doors are locked. It is an ensuite room set out like a hotel room. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS OUR FAMILY HOME AND IS NOT SUITED FOR A ROMANTIC/ PASSIONATE NIGHT AWAY BUT FOR GUESTS WANTING A PEACEFUL GETAWAY.. Wooden stairs lead up to this first floor bedroom that has its own decked area with outside furniture to enjoy the fantastic views.

Dunelm Studio, Durham City

Comfortable studio apartment for two. In great location a pleasant 10 minute walk, via the riverside from the historic city centre, with its many attractions and numerous options for shopping and entertainment. Could accommodate baby if necessary and I will provide travel cot and high chair if required at no extra cost. However, guests must provide own bedding and other requirements for baby feeding etc.
