Hockey Hut

Hockey Hut is a cosy, clean, self contained and comfortable hut it has everything you need for a cosy stay. We offer a variety of cereals, breads, tea and coffee for breakfast. Franz Josef township is a 10 minute walk away or a 2 minute drive. Relax and enjoy the beautiful native surroundings. We are at the far end of Cron street, straight past the hot pools, then past the medical centre until you see our red Maori Pau (red carving) then turn right up our drive. We are 116 Cron street.

A peaceful little retreat nestled near the base of the Southern Alps mountains on a 100-acre farm within walking distance to the heart of Fox Glacier township - perfect for couples and solo travellers looking for a cosy and comfortable stay. The space features a double bed, tea and coffee-making facilities and a porch with fire pit. The bathroom is a short walk away and is shared with other guests from the second pod. A warm, cosy and quiet space with a private garden. Free Wifi Downstairs is the living room / kitchenette area. Upstairs and downstairs are connected by external stairs (see photos). Awesome outdoor bath - great for stargazing. There are balconies on three sides of the tower.

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. Local café and pub 5 mins walk. 20km drive away from one of the Top 5 Coastal Walks in NZ. 45 min drive from Franz Josef Glacier. Local walks including Hot Pools and 2 of NZs oldest Rimu trees. The local café closes around 3pm so if you are passing through Hokitika or Franz Josef you may want to get food from the supermarket. We are unable to offer early check-ins or late check-outs
