Situated on a small tidal slough, it provides a beautiful natural setting for reflection and appreciation of that which is good in life. For those looking for luxury, the Backpacker is not for you (you may encounter bugs and it's really hot in summer). However, the Backpacker has a pretty cool vibe, and is extremely convenient to historic Charleston and Funky Folly Beach. The Backpacker is for backpackers and nature lovers.

Riverbank Cottage is situated on the banks of the Edisto River. Our 630 square foot cottage is freshly remodeled and waiting for your weekend get a way or summer fishing trip. Fish off the bank or bring your canoe, kayaks or small fishing boat to enjoy the river. There is a boat landing in the neighborhood and just down from the cottage. This is a studio cottage that sleeps up to 4. Sit on the screen porch and enjoy the sunrise and river views. Full kitchen and bathroom. No bedrooms.

We are located 15 minutes from the hearts of Cane Bay, Nexton and Exit 194 on I-26, and 45 minutes from Downtown Charleston. Our property boasts several Grand Oaks and is frequented by wildlife, as well as our two friendly golden retrievers. Our dock has a lounge area and can be used to tie up your boat. The river allows easy access to the Atlantic Ocean and the ICW, and fishing locally is terrific year round.
