The Hogstad Homestead

The Hogstad Homestead has been in our family for nearly 70 years. The name is in honor of my great grandparents Ardell&Elaine Hogstad who bought the property in the early 1950's. They raised their two children there and also operated a farm for many years. Since then it has been home to many family members. In 2017 my husband & I had the opportunity to buy it. It was home to us for 5 amazing years where we created many happy memories. We are now ready to share this special property with others!

This charming, country 1926 farmhouse sits atop rolling country fields just outside the village of Maiden Rock, and just a few miles to Stockholm, Pepin, & Red Wing, Mn. This farmhouse was purchased by the host's parents in 1987. While being raised here with 8 siblings, this home felt very small. The cabin sits about 80 steps (a challenge for some) above Elk Lake. Elk lake is a no wake lake that is great for fishing, kayaking (we have two), and swimming.
