Bohemian Firehouse-an authentic 1916 Firehouse

The Bohemian Firehouse was the living quarters for the men stationed there when it was built in 1916. It sits above a retail space which housed the firetruck. The charming brick building is in near original condition, despite surviving a major flood and a derecho. You'll love the gorgeous woodwork, vintage tile and light fixtures. But you'll appreciate some modern touches like air conditioning, an updated kitchen and smart tv. Still, it's easy to imagine the stories these walls could tell.

Or, instead of hopping on the interstate, just continue on into the heart of downtown Cedar Rapids for business or pleasure. Luxurious 12 inch memory foam mattresses on each bed for exceptional rest. When you're awake, there's a Keurig and high speed internet (100 Mb).

Our place is close to everything! A 5-10 minute drive to just about anything in town. Newbo District and downtown are 5 min by car and 15 min on a bike. The bike path is 1/2 mile from the house and easily accessible. You will enjoy the quiet wooded location of this completely renovated "cozy" 500 Sq. Ft. one bedroom cottage. Originally the first floor of a 1900 home for railroad workers in Marion, it is now a refurbished 2 bedroom apartment we call the Irish hill. A completely separate 1 bedroom apartment (also on Airbnb) is the top half of the house, and we call that the Uptown B! Check it out on our host profile.
