With miles of rugged countryside & spectacular views, the Steading is a perfect family country escape for 4. Bring the kids - it's made for hill walking and exploring or just unwinding by the cosy wood-burning stove. Easy access to Edinburgh is a huge bonus. Our handcrafted woodland sauna yurt & spring-water plunge pool can be prepared specially for you (at an additional fee).

East House sits within Ratho Park Steading: a stunning Scottish courtyard stable (built 1826; converted 2021). It borders Ratho Park Golf club (area of outstanding beauty), a walk from the heart of Ratho village, 8miles from Edinburgh centre. Rooms are stylishly furnished (with wifi), and proudly eco-friendly (ground source heated). The property has parking, doors to the courtyard, patio with views looking onto a beautiful fairway, and a path to the gardens, fire pit, ruins and historic canal.

Beautiful tranquil country cottage with private garden boasting spectacular views over the Pentland hills . The cottage is well situated for exploring the area, being just 5 minutes drive from Rosslyn chapel, (which you can also walk to from the cottage by following the path through the glen.)The Pentland hills are only 10 minutes drive, and it takes less than 30 minutes to drive to edinburgh city centre. It is a great place to come home to after a day of hillwalking ,working or sight seeing.

Surrounded by ancient woodland, Stable Park is a family bolthole with spectacular views across the Penicuik Designed Landscape. With a light-filled, open plan kitchen diner extending to a fire side outdoor dining terrace and an enormous cedar hot tub tucked away in the woods, this is here for you to gather with close friends and family in total comfort.

Eco loft overlooking garden and stream

This artist and architect-designed house is clad in larch and well insulated with wool felts. The access to the separate loft of our eco-house is via an external staircase. A large south facing window in the main room overlooks the woodland garden and Shiplaw burn. There is a workspace/single bedroom for an extra guest. We are located within one of the biggest habitat restoration projects in Europe and are five minutes walk from a regular bus service to Edinburgh and across the Borders.
