Attract remote workers and long-term travellers
The Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation’s (MDEC) DE Rantau programme aims to establish Malaysia as a remote work-friendly destination. You can be part of the programme by certifying your listing with MDEC as a DE Rantau Hub, which recognises your listing as a remote work-friendly accommodation.

Why should I participate in DE Rantau?

Sign up for the programme and stand to be:

1. Featured and promoted in a remote work marketing campaign via Airbnb’s channels.

2. Invited to attend a complimentary Airbnb workshop, where you will learn to optimise your listings to be remote work-friendly and attract long-term bookings.

3. Eligible for incentives, campaigns and vouchers provided by MDEC through the DE Rantau programme.

Please note that you will need to display the DE Rantau Hub logo on your Airbnb listing page.

How do I apply?

1. Create an account with MDEC via the button below and apply for the DE Rantau Hub certification.2. If your application is successful, you will receive a confirmation email from MDEC which will contain a DE Rantau Hub logo for you to upload to your listing page. 3. By submitting your application, you understand and acknowledge that if you are selected by MDEC to be certified, MDEC will provide Airbnb with your Listing ID, so that Airbnb may feature your listing as part of Airbnb’s remote work marketing campaign and dedicated microsite.
The application form is owned and operated solely by MDEC. All information you provide through the form will be collected and processed under the MDEC registration process and any applicable terms (including personal data statements) from MDEC, not Airbnb. Airbnb makes no representations or warranties as to the collection and processing of your personal information submitted through the link above.

Criteria for Certification

Listings with the following amenities may qualify* as a certified DE Rantau Hub.
*Please note that MDEC will be assessing your listing. It is at their discretion to determine and certify if your listing meets their DE Rantau Hub requirements.

Location

Your listing has to be located within one of the following eligible cities approved by MDEC. This page will be updated whenever MDEC onboards a new city into the programme. Cities eligible: All cities in West Malaysia and *Penang.*For Penang, only serviced apartments are eligible.

Workspace

A dedicated workspace complete with a comfortable desk and chair is important for remote workers to maintain productivity and focus.

High-speed Internet

A fast and reliable fixed broadband with speed of at least 30 Mbps or a wireless broadband connection throughout the entire listing is essential.

Kitchen/Pantry

Your listing should be equipped with a kitchen, kitchenette, or pantry, to offer remote workers the flexibility and convenience to cook and prepare their own meals.
