La Sala Rossa (The Red Room) is our bigger venue just across the street. This beautiful room is a historic Montreal building built by the left-wing Jewish community in 1932. It was a cultural / recreational / political center and once hosted Paul Robeson, Eleanor Roosevelt as well as a workmen’s circle during the 1940’s and ’50’s. For the past thirty years the Centro Social Español has occupied the building and continues to use it as a cultural center for people of Spanish decent.
