Our mission Founded as a Christian ministry of healing, Baylor Scott & White Health promotes the well-being of all individuals, families and communities. Our history Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital – Dallas, formerly known as Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital, opened in 2002 as the first North Texas hospital dedicated solely to the care and treatment of heart and vascular patients. The heirs to Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton have been and will continue to be involved, as we appreciate their generosity as a key part of the heart hospital’s history. Providing inpatient and outpatient services focused on preventive heart health and comprehensive cardiovascular disease management, Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital cares for patients who travel nationally and internationally for heart care and treatment. The hospital is a patient-centered facility with six cardiac catheterization laboratories, four electrophysiology laboratories, four surgical suites and a cardiac rehabilitation center. Other services include radiology, Heart Rhythm Center, Center for Valve Disorders, Aortic Center and a non-invasive imaging department. Thanks to the historic collaboration between the formerly named Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital and Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center – Fort Worth, in late 2014, Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital – Fort Worth provides expanded cardiac services and greater access for heart patients to research studies and clinical trials. A 26,000-square-foot diagnostic and treatment center anchors the sixth floor, featuring cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology and non-invasive cardiology services. Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital is expanding cardiology care to Ellis County. A cardiac catheterization lab opened within Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Waxahachie, managed by Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Services – Waxahachie, on November 1, 2021. As part of the $47 million campus expansion, a new medical office building broke ground in October 2021. The building will contain the new heart and vascular hospital. The hospital will include advanced cardiology and vascular services provided by Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital – Dallas. Working collaboratively with Baylor Scott & White – Waxahachie, the new heart and vascular hospital will include expanded cardiovascular interventional services, electrophysiology treatments, and non-invasive services, and cardiac imaging capabilities. New catheterization labs, electrophysiology labs, and an outpatient recovery unit will complete the new space. The anticipated opening is mid-year 2023. Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Hospital, joint ownership with physicians, is part of Baylor Scott & White Health, a result of the 2013 merger between Baylor Health Care System and Scott & White Health.
