Nekadašnja rezidencija Habzburga i sedište vladara sve do 1918 godine, a i danas je u jednom delu i sedište predsednika države. Jedan od najvećih imperijalnih kompleksa na svetu, gde delovi kompleksa datiraju još iz 13 veka pa na dalje. Sada su tu smešteni brojni muzeji- Kraljevski apartmani, Muzej kraljice Sisi, Austrijska Nacionalna biblioteka, Kraljevska Riznica kao i španska škola jahanja. Za obilazak većine njih su opet redovi pa je preporuka kupiti karte online. Izuzetak je kraljevska riznica gde nema reda, a ima se šta interesantno videti – od roga jednoroga, kraljevske kolevke i kruna, do tkanine stolnjaka sa poslednje večere, pa i zuba Jovana Krstitelja

Vienna's Imperial Palace, the Hofburg, was for centuries the seat of the Habsburgs, rulers of Austria until the end of WWI. A great deal of European history was written here, in particular by Empress Maria. Today it's the official seat of the Austrian Head of State, the Federal President. The complex is particularly interesting as its major buildings reflect more than 700 years of architectural history; nearly every Austrian ruler since 1275 ordered additions or alterations. As a result, the Hofburg shows many different architectural styles, from Gothic to Renaissance, Baroque to Rococo, and a smattering of Classicism.
