Aubeterre is one of a most popular local destinations with visitors. With fantastic restaurants, local fish, wines, individual shops the lake and of course the monesteriel church, full of history and beauty it's a must to visit.

Aubeterre-sur-Dronne is a commune in the Charente department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of south-western France. It has been officially listed as "One of the most beautiful villages in France," since 1993. Aubeterre-sur-Dronne is also well known for its Church of Saint Jean, an underground, Monolithic Church.

A very pretty hillside village with a lively central square and lots of quaint streets and little shops. Visit the largest monolithic church in France, built inside a cave. The campsite on the river has a public beach, river swimming and large grassed picnic area.
