What do you expect in the centre of a city of millions? Hectic What to expect in the centre of Vienna? Calmness. The inner courtyard of the Schottenkloster is so quiet that it's almost eerie. The ideal place for a coffee and a Sachertorte. Café Diglas also serves a good breakfast.

Schottenkloster Benedictine monastery founded in 1155 by Heinrich II Jasomirgott (1107-1177). He brought Scottish monks to Vienna, hence the name of the monastery.

A Roman-Catholic monastery founded in the 12th century. The nearby square has a very charming atmosphere, definitely worth walking around.
