It's an alley between Harrison and Treat on 24th that has about 30 or 40 murals in it. First started in the 1970s by the Chicanos in the Mission. It began with the Chicano Civil Rights Movement as a way for people to reconnect with the muralist movement in Mexico and instill Mexican-American pride. It's just continued to expand over time, and now it's become a tourist destination in its own right. The entire project is a tribute to the Mexican muralist movement of Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros, and José Clemente Orozco.

Graffiti art. There are many examples all around the city. Consider a mural tour, but this is a one stop place to see a nice collection.

Today the alley contains murals on a myriad of styles and subjects from human rights to local gentrification. The murals are sometimes replaced by newer ones. The alley is best viewed on foot- either by yourself or on a guided tour from Precita Eyes Mural Arts.
