We (my adult daughter and I) recently attended the Letterpress Printing Workshop, and I can confidently say it was a fantastic experience! Ted, our instructor, was incredibly knowledgeable and encouraging, making sure we both felt comfortable and engaged throughout the process.

The hands-on instruction was both fun and informative. Learning to typeset lead type into notecards was great, and using the antique Vandercook proofing press to print (“wait for the click”)felt like stepping back in time - very analog.

Overall, I would absolutely do this workshop again! If you’re looking for a fun, hands-on experience that combines creativity with a bit of history, I highly recommend the Letterpress Printing Workshop.

We loved this experience! Ted is a great host and storyteller, and his workshop is such a neat place. We learned a good deal of history, got to see and use some vintage machines, and experience setting and printing ourselves. If we had a longer trip to Boston, we would have tried booked another class for sure! 5 stars, definitely recommend.

So much fun! Learned a lot and it was a very unique experience with something for everyone.

Ted’s lecture was fascinating: a thousand years of Asian and European history in less than an hour. The shop is exactly how I expected it, quirky and cool. I’d love to come back for a linocut class.
